As a response, the Trevor Project created Spectrum, a bot that uses chat moderation to censor homophobic language or hate speech

On Discord, Spectrum directly messages offenders when language has been flagged. Repeated strikes lead to messages from partnered LGBTQ+ streamers and chat restrictions/bans for repeated homophobic behavior.
